Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

The recipe that got me started on food porn... um... food blogging... I stumbled across a blog called the amateur gourmet and found his attempt to bake this pie. I have never been very good at pies, but his pictures inspired me to give pies another try. His pie was obviously not perfect -- it had bubbled over the edges and the lattice top was less than perfect -- but it looked utterly fantastic. I found the recipe he used on epicurious and gave it a whirl. As you can tell, mine did not look perfect, the insides were still a bit gushy, and it did indeed bubble over as expected -- but it was one of the best pies I have ever had and I don't even like pie all that much.

Melissa... didn't know you knew that was my favorite pie would ask you to send a piece but don't think it would survive being put in an envelope.....I like to bake cakes
